Tuff’n Up Productions LLC. is a music production/songwriting company. The company was founded in 2008 by Timothy A. Levy. They pride themselves in being able to produce several different genres of music with extreme attention to detail.

What is your strive?
My strive is to produce music that truly speaks to the soul of people. I want my music to make people dance, sing, laugh, cry and bring them closer to the one who created us all “GOD”!

Where are you from?
I’m from Saint Paul, Minnesota.

How did you get started?
I wrote and recorded my first songs when I was five. I played my bongos and sang my heart out into a boom box…that’s right I said “Boom Box” cassette tape baby! This was back when Michael Jackson’s Thriller was playing on MTV for the first time ! Well as time went by I found myself playing sports and wanting to do that more than music, long story short in 1995 God led me back to music and I started to sing and write. I recorded some demo’s and tried to get a deal but I soon realized that I loved producing and writing more than performing myself. In 2008 I started my own production company Tuff’n Up Productions LLC. I just recently landed an endorsement deal with Open Labs (Neko & Miko). You can check me out on there site as well.

What steps are you taking to achieve your goals?
I don’t let a day go by that I’m not actively pursuing my goals. That might mean networking, producing music, writing a song, sending out emails or working on the business side of things. You can’t ever let up because someone out there will be working just as hard as you if not harder.

What do you do to separate yourself from the crowd?
I’m a perfectionist when it comes to the production and songwriting. Everything has to sound exactly right or I won’t put it up on my site let alone release it. The other main thing I do to set myself apart is have a good attitude and treat others with repect and kindness. It doesn’t matter how talented you are if your a jerk and all you do is talk about yourself no one will want to be around you.

What are you currently working on?
Right now I’m actually working on a country album.

Do you feel that your art form is a way to express yourself, or a way of life? How would you classify your art form?
It’s a way of life for me. If I could’nt do music it would be like not being able to breathe. Music is like therapy for me…a de-stresser in life! I would classify my art form by not classifying it. It’s all across the board for me, that’s the way I like it.

What’s your resume?
I’ve worked with several local artists in my area. I’m looking to branch out this year and work with some nationally signed artists. I’ve got the material and production to make that happen, I just have to keep that networking circle strong!

Do you have a contract, or are you currently shopping around?
I don’t currently have a contract except for my endorsement deal with Open Labs. I would be open to a contract depending on the specifics.

What are your thoughts on today’s music industry?
I think it’s an exciting time in the music industry because at any moment anyone can blow up now. The web has opened up a whole new way of thinking. Youtube….Myspace…FB…Twitter…if you can market yourself right you can have 20,000 fans of your music in a matter of weeks. It can be done because people are doing it everyday and that’s the exciting part!

What suggestions would you have for the many other striving artist like yourself?
Never give up on your dream. It’s not necessarily the people who are the most talented who succeed, it’s the people who always keep pressing forward no matter what. You have to put yourself in the best position to succeed and you can’t do that if you quit or slack off on your goals….Right???

Any other upcoming projects, events, or plugs you’d like to mention?
I’m currently in the process of signing a new Pop artist. Her name is Leva she’s 17 with a unique sound. I’m looking forward to starting her project in early spring!

When you choose Tuff’n Up Productions for a project they make you feel like you are the most important client. Their goal is to give you an industry standard product while in a friendly, safe, and comfortable atmosphere. The end product results into possible lable deals, sell it on iTunes, whatever you want to do with it.

Timothy is a great songwriter and producer. He has the skill and knowledge to write, record, and produce in the studio. His vast musical influences allow him to convey all styles fluently. While working with Timothy on many sessions, I find it very easy to convey whatever session requirements are needed due to his keen sense as a producer and songwriter. I highly recommend Timothy in any studio production or songwriter/producer environment.
