Atlanta rapper T.I. (born Clifford Harris Jr.) was released from prison on Tuesday (December 22) and ordered to serve the remainder of his sentence in a correctional center in Georgia.
The 28-year-old rapper, who has served 7 months into his 366 day jail term will spend the rest of his time at Dismas Charities Atlanta West. Once released, T.I.P. must complete 500 hours of community service and 23 days of home incarceration.
His attorney Steve Sadow, told the Atlanta Journal Constitution, this situation is “not out of the ordinary”.
As previously reported, T.I. was arrested in 2007 after trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers from undercover federal agents. T.I. claims he only wanted to purchase the weapons after his best friend was killed following a party in Cincinnati in 2006. He says the bullets that killed his friend were meant for him.
