Going “All In”…that is a common term you’ll often hear during high stakes poker tournaments. Though, as with any other gamble, knowing when or when not to bluff is essential to you winning big, or losing big. Then again, that’s why it’s called gambling. It’s a risk, and you can’t win it all without first having risked it all. What’s Your Strive catches up with Dfizzle Manye as he goes “All In”.

Dfizzle Manye

BIO: Dfizzle Manye was born Darryl Andre Hendricks Jr. He was raised in Edwardsville, IL, where he attended Edwardsville High School. A football jock for most of his life, Dfizzle’s attention was later turned to music by his sister Latoya Wilson and brother Reace “Beatz” Wilson. With his siblings as inspiration, Dfizzle decided to pursue a career in music. While growing up in church he was surrounded by music, and learned to play the drums. Dfizzle would watch and learn as his brother worked with soon-to-be famous artists, such as Chingy and Nelly. As he grew older, Dfizzle decided to take matters into his own hands, purchasing his own studio equipment and setting up shop. Following his brother’s mentorship, his skills continued to grow. While away at college, Dfizzle co-formed a group called cc310. Fast forward to the present, and Dfizzle has made music his life and love. With his brother’s guidance, his crew of rappers, and singers, Dfizzle plans on a Midwest take over.

Dfizzle: Music. I want to become a rap artist.

Pauly: Where are you from?

Dfizzle: Edwardsville, IL

Pauly: What steps are you taking to achieve your goals?

Dfizzle: I’m making music, I’m making mixtapes and I’m promoting myself.

Pauly: With everybody trying to make it into the entertainment business, what do you do to separate yourself from the crowd?

Dfizzle: I stay in the studio and work hard and try and come harder than anybody out or that’s on a track with me.

Pauly: How did you get started?

Dfizzle: Inspiration from my family. Everyone can sing, except me (laughs). So I rap.

Pauly: What are you currently working on?

Dfizzle: I’m currently working on my second mixtape, “I’m All In Part 2”.

Pauly: Do you feel that your art form is a way to express yourself, or a way of life?

Dfizzle: I think my art form is both. Because I rap about my life and I express myself thru my lyrics.photo196-1Pauly: What’s your resume?

Dfizzle: Currently I’m going to be a feature on a radio station stlcc.edu/kcfv.

Pauly: Do you have a recording deal, or are you currently shopping around?

Dfizzle: I am currently shopping around for a contact.

Pauly: What’s your opinion of the current entertainment scene?

Dfizzle: I love the strive scene. It’s helping people get started and it helps build confidence in yourself to keep striving for your dream!

Pauly: What suggestions do you have for other aspiring strivers?

Dfizzle: I would tell others to just keep striving man. It gets hard doing what you love to do, but you got to keep going. There are haters in everything you do. Just feed off of it, show them and prove to yourself, that you can strive to become what you want.

Pauly: Any other upcoming projects you’d like to mention?

Dfizzle: I’m working on my second mix tape… First Mixtape “I’m All In” the Mixtape…
